No, all our appointments can be telehealth-delivered using Zoom.

However, if you prefer, we can see you in person in Christchurch.  

Children do not need to attend the appointments. We welcome and may encourage young people to be involved so they can learn ways to support themselves to sleep better.

We can discuss whether your child or young person should attend the sessions with you on an individualised basis.

Yes, all information you share with us is confidential.

However, in the rare event we feel you or your child is at risk of harm, then we may need to share information outside of our team. We will inform you of our intention to do so where possible.

No, we support children who are on medication but do not prescribe medication (including melatonin) ourselves.

Yes. Our strategies can be put into place alongside melatonin to improve sleep in ways that melatonin may not.

For example, if melatonin helps your child to fall asleep but they are still waking during the night, then other strategies may be beneficial.  

There are some types of sleep problems that may require medical assessment and treatment, like sleep-related breathing difficulties.

We will assess your child’s sleep carefully and will recommend referrals for any problems that we identify that we cannot help to address ourselves.

Yes, if your health insurance provider agrees. You will need to ask your health insurance provider directly.

Yes, if your Individualised Funding (IF) host provider agrees. You will need to approach your IF host provider directly.

We require 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment.

Not giving the required notice period may incur a fee.

We provide a full cost breakdown for those who make an enquiry or referral.
